This is a question of the surface: in principle, fixed blades produce a cleaner cut than movable blades. However, with fixed blades, there must be no obstacles such as pine cones or children's toys on the mowing area, as they cannot move out of the way/fold away and break. Fallen fruit is not a problem. So if the area is not free of pine cones or similar, movable blades are advisable, although the cut is not as clean as with fixed blades, as movable blades tend to pull on the blades of grass in dense lawns.

The blade naturally has a certain influence on the battery life because it is heavier. However, factors such as the nature of the terrain, the battery capacity of the mower itself and the height of the grass also play a role. It is therefore difficult to say how much the additional weight of the blade ultimately affects the battery performance. In addition, the better cutting performance of the fixed blades actually compensates for this factor.

If you use fixed blades, the use of the sliding plate is clearly not recommended, as a lot of clippings collect between the sliding plate and the blade disc. With movable blades, especially if there are a lot of obstacles such as pine cones or similar on the mowing area, a sliding plate to protect the disc makes sense. The 3XX and 4xx discs for Husqvarna mowers therefore always come with sliding plate adapters.
